December 2005 Toyofuji Establishes PT. Toyofuji Serasi Indonesia

In a joint investment with Indonesian company, Serasi Autoraya, and Fujitrans Corporation, Toyofuji has established an overseas affiliate in Indonesia, called PT. Toyofuji Serasi Indonesia (TFSI), as a domestic shipping company.
TFSI will work together with PT. Toyofuji Logistics Indonesia, which is already conducting terminal operations and forwarding services in Indonesia, to further enhance Toyofuji's services in Indonesia, including the realization of integrated land and sea transportation of CBUs in Indonesia.
The new company will open for business in March next year, after it has finished setting up its transportation systems.

December 2005 Toyofuji Holds Bon Voyage Concert 2005

On December 20, Toyofuji held its Toyofuji Bon Voyage Concert 2005 at the Aichi Prefectural Arts Theatre Concert Hall in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. The Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the Orchestra's Conductor Laureate , Kenichiro Kobayashi, and three soloists entranced the audience of 1,600 with a memorable evening of classical music, with performances of classics from Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Glinka.

December 2005 Toyofuji Makes Donation to Childcare Facility

Toyofuji has made a monetary donation to a childcare facility in Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture, as part of its continuing social contributions to the community.
Toyofuji has been supporting the childcare facility for over ten years and has actively continued that support this year as well, including presenting the children with tickets to Expo 2005 Aichi Japan.
In addition to an official donation from the company, much of the money donated this time came from voluntary activities by Toyofuji employees, including a collection among employees and the proceeds of a charity bazaar. The childcare facility has been very appreciative of the employees' efforts. Toyofuji will continue to provide heartfelt cooperation and support to the facility.

December 2005 Toyofuji's JISHA-Compliant Occupational Safety and Health Management System Registered

On December 12, Toyofuji's Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS), which aims to prevent work accidents and create a safe workplace in line with Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare guidelines, has received formal registration of compliance with the standards of the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association (JISHA). The registration of JISHA compliance was received for Toyota Motor Corporation Nagoya Wherf Center (Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture), where Toyofuji's Head Office is located, and its Tahara Center (Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture). These are the first registrations given for port cargo handling workplaces in Japan.
"Safety" will continue to be one of Toyofuji's top management priorities and Toyofuji will strive to maintain its record of "zero work accidents".

December 2005 "Warm Biz" Campaign Introduced Company-Wide

On December 1, the "Warm Biz" campaign was adopted throughout the company as part of Toyofuji's environmental protection activities, following on from summer's "Cool Biz" light clothing campaign.
The main thrust of the "Warm Biz" campaign is to get back to basics during cold weather, namely to dress more warmly and not rely excessively on heaters. The heaters in Toyofuji workplaces will be set at 20C, thus contributing to the promotion of energy conservation.
Toyofuji will continue to pursue environmentally-friendly corporate activities with vigor in all areas of the company.

November 2005 Toyofuji Forms Joint Venture in Philippines, "TF Logistics Philippines, Inc."

Toyofuji has established a joint-venture company, TF Logistics Philippines, Inc., in the Philippines' capital city of Manila in a joint investment with local companies Fair Shipping & Agency, Inc. and Banderas Holdings, Inc.
Toyofuji Shipping has provided marine transport services of Toyota CBUs to the Philippines from Japan and Thailand for some time, but with this new joint venture, it will move into the provision of integrated transport services, including logistics, in the Philippines, for Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP). We will also work to increase our sales by actively seeking transport of other cargo as well.

November 2005 Inauguration of TOYOFUJI MARU

On November 15, Toyofuji inaugurated the TOYOFUJI MARU, one of the largest car carrier vessels on its Japanese domestic marine transport routes.
The TOYOFUJI MARU was developed and built in collaboration with Toyota Transportation Co., Ltd in an "Ocean and Land Transport Synergy Project", the aim of which was to develop innovative transport systems that integrate land and ocean transport. The vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art technology for safety, environmental protection, low costs and energy conservation. The ship will also make active social contributions, including providing the Hekinan Sea Side Aquariam in Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture with seawater. The TOYOFUJI MARU is certain to become a valuable member of Toyofuji's innovative cargo fleet as it moves into the 21st Century

November 2005 Inauguration of TRANS FUTURE 5

On November 1, TRANS FUTURE 5, one of the world's largest car carrier vessels, was inaugurated for service on Toyofuji's Oceania routes.
High hopes are held that the TRANS FUTURE 5 will make a major contribution to Toyofuji's plans to slim down and upscale its shipping fleet and to the synergy of marine transport in response to cost minimization and shipment maximization strategies. Environmentally as well, the vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art environmental technology in line with the Toyota Earth Charter. It also cooperates with atmosphere and ocean monitoring surveys conducted by the National Institute for Environmental Studies. The newly-designed "TFS Dolphin" motif, which appears on the hull, represents Toyofuji's commitment to protection of the global environment, as well as the great leaps forward that the company will take into the future.

October 2005 Toyofuji Holds Demonstration of On-Board Emergency Training

On October 17, Toyofuji held a demonstration of the 2005 on-board emergency training on the HOSHO MARU, which is currently in port at Toyofuji Head Office's Toyota Motor Corporation Nagoya Wherf Center.
The training was conducted under the guidance of the Nagoya Coast Guard Office and was observed by guests invited from relevant organizations, shippers and ship-owners, including the Chubu District Transport Bureau, Toyota Motor Co., Ltd and Toyota Transportation Co., Ltd. From the perspectives of refueling and crisis management according to proper work procedures, the training, based on a scenario of a major oil spill, was conducted in a very realistic manner, concentrating on tasks such as oil clean-up, fire extinction and rescue of the injured.

September 2005 Toyofuji Commences Domestic Marine Transport of Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd Vehicles in China

Toyofuji has commenced domestic marine transport services in China in collaboration with its Chinese joint venture company, CSC Fenghai Motor Logistics Co., Ltd (CFML) and CSC Shenzhen Enterprise Development Co.,Ltd.
Currently, these services are for the marine transport of CBUs built by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd from Tianjin to Dongguan in Guandong Province. CFML is also responsible for operations at the cargo unloading and storage yard, CSC Fenghai Motor Logistics Co.,Ltd. Dongguan Toyota Yard, on the arrival of the cargo at its destination port of Dongguan. Efforts are being placed into the development of a wide range of logistics services. Toyofuji is also transporting CBUs built at Hainan Mazda from Hainan Island to Shanghai and Tianjin. In this way, Toyofuji plans to further expand and enhance its marine transport services in response to the expansion of production in China by automobile manufacturers.

August 2005 Approaches to Transport of Lexus

For the transportation of Toyota Motor Corporation's luxury passenger car, Lexus, Toyofuji has joined forces with Fuji Trans Corporation and other collaborating companies to develop specialized work procedures that exceed the Toyota standards.
The new procedures are designed to provide the highest quality service for the overseas marine transportation of Toyota's global premium brand vehicle. They include the selection and clear indication of specialist "Lexus" handling personnel and the designation of vehicle loading locations on vessels. Toyofuji's entire organisation will work together to maintain and increase the quality of its services.

August 2005 Toyofuji Holds World Conference

The 5th Toyofuji World Conference was held over four days from August 31to September 3. The Conference brought together under one roof all of Toyofuji's service agents and partner companies that support the global network from around the world, to share information about their respective regions and further strengthen mutual cooperation.
The Conference was the scene of many reports and discussions about Toyofuji's future outlook and vision in areas such as sales expansion and business development. The very productive event will be of great benefit to the future of the company.

June 2005 Inauguration of SEA CRUISER 1

Toyofuji Shipping has inaugurated SEA CRUISER 1, the first company-owned vessel to service its European short-sea routes.
Toyofuji's European short-sea services, which commenced in 2005, have made an enormous contribution to improving the efficiency and sales support of Toyota Motor Corporation. With the introduction of a company-owned vessel, we will strive even harder to improve the quality of our global services.

June 2005 Cleanup Operation of Nagoya Port as a Volunteer Activity

Our volunteers have helped to clean up the water area in the Port of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, where our Head Office is located. Also, groups of participants were deployed in small vessels, plying around Nagoya Port, including locations in Nagoya, Tokai City, and Tobishima Village, to retrieve floating thrash in the sea.
Through these initiatives, we hope it will promote and develop greater awareness of safeguarding the environment and bring about a broad level of benefit to the community.

June 2005 "Cool Biz" Wear Introduced Company-Wide

The "Cool Biz" light summer wear campaign, promoted mainly by the Japan's Environmental Ministry, was adopted throughout the company on June 1st. Cool Biz is a style of clothing in which jackets, neckties, and other clothing that tends to cause the body to retain heat are dispensed with, thereby helping to suppress excess use of air conditioning at the workplace, thereby promoting energy conservation.. The style has been adopted at Toyofuji as part of the company's environmental preservation activities. The company plans to continue with active efforts to preserve the environment in the future as well.

April 2005 Company Supports "Global Harmony Concert" at EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan

Toyota Group has provided general support and assistance to EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan. As a contribution, Toyofuji has taken part in helping stage a "Global Harmony Concert" hosted by Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition.

March 2005 Soba Noodle-Making Event at Childcare Facility

Executives and employees of Toyofuji hosted a soba noodle-making event at a childcare facility in Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture, with the aim of promoting friendship and good relations among children. At the event, Toyofuji employees joined approximately 70 children in working hard to knead, pound, and cut the dough. The children were also thrilled by the unusual experience of helping to pound these noodles. It was a memorable time for both the children and the participants from Toyofuji.

February 2005 Company Supports EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan with Free Transport of Exhibits

Toyofuji is providing free transport of displays from Honiara, Solomon Islands, to Nagoya for use in EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan , held in Seto City and Nagakute Town, Aichi Prefecture, located in the hills east of Nagoya. At the request for cooperation with transport needs made by the Association for the 2005 World Exposition, this free service involved transport on the TOCHO MARU of pieces including wooden carvings of human figures, folk art works used in prayers for safety in sea voyages, and woodwork expressing the lifestyle and culture of that land. This act is a good example of the company's efforts in contributing to society.

February 2005 Toyota Yard at Dongguan, China Completed

Ongoing construction has been completed on the "CFML Dongguan Toyota Yard," for use primarily by "CSC Fenghai Motor Logistics Co., Ltd" (CFML), a Chinese joint venture established with Toyofuji, and other related companies, as a loading and storage yard serving domestic marine transport in China. Located in Dongguan City, some 70 km southeast of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, this CFML-managed company is advancing genuine transfer of operations.

January 2005 Top Management Tours Tahara Center

An inspection tour by top management was held at Toyota Motor Corporation's Tahara Center. During this tour, conducted with the aims of bolstering vigilance in maintaining safety awareness and thorough accident prevention in the New Year, top executives from Toyofuji along with main clients received information on safety activities from the tour leaders, which was followed by a tour showing the processes performed on board the ships and on the premises. With numerous views exchanged and points made, the tour proved to be useful in ensuring continued thoroughness with safety in future operations.

January 2005 Start of European short sea operation

Toyofuji has started the European short sea operations from January. The European region is one of the core markets that Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyofuji's main customer, has been focusing on. In July 2004, Toyofuji established European office in Brussels, Belgium, and preparations for the start of operations have been continuing. The Europe office now provides customers in Europe with the same high-quality logistics services we have been offering in other overseas regions.
